Wiki Page: What is the memory utilization for each virtual user when running SAP based scripts?

Each Silk Performer Perfrun process hosts one instance of the SAP GUI Scripting API COM object. Each instance has an initial memory footprint of about 30 MB therefore each virtual user that is executed within a PerfRun process opens a SAP connection, one or more sessions as well as other windows. Depending on the activities of users and selected replay options (e.g., if control information is logged and if TrueLog-On Error is enabled), virtual users require between 5 and 8 MB of memory each. This means that memory usage per perfrun can be calculated as: MemUsage = 30 + UserCount * (5 to 8) Thus memory usage of between 80 and 110 MB should be expected for 10 VUsers/PerfRun. It is therefore recommended that change the "Automatic User Calculation" in order to reduce memory utilization. To change this setting go to: SETTINGS | SYSTEM | CONTROL Here uncheck the "Automatic Calculation" checkbox and set the Virtual Users per process to 50. Old KB# 18125
