When using the Identify tool; why does the Attach name change for a Control that is already present in the Object Map? Solution: When identifying an object, QARun cross references the object with the Object Map. If the object has an existing Object Map; the Identify will will display this name when the control is examined. However, if there is no Object Map entry present, the Identify window will instead display the raw attach name. If you are identifying an object that has an existing Object Map entry, and a raw attach name is still displayed; then some part of the object has changed. Consider the following example: Open QARun. Start the learn process. Click on the title bar of Notepad and move the window a little bit. Stop the learn process. You should now have an Object Map named 'Untitled - Notepad MainWindow'. Click on the Identify tool and identify the main window of Notepad. The attach name should still read "Untitled - Notepad MainWindow'. Type the letter "a" in Notepad, and save the file as "a.txt". Now, with the saved Notepad file still open, use QARun and identify the window again. The attach name will now read "~N~Notepad.exe~Notepad~a - Notepad". This shows that something has changed, and this change is the reason that "Untitled - Notepad MainWindow" is not shown as the attach name in the identify popup window. Old KB# 10603
