There is a know issue in Silk Performer 7.x which may result in Performance Explorer crashing. This is caused by the version of pdh.dll in the Silk Performer directory being older than that of the operating system. The crash may happen at any point during the use of Performance Explorer. To check if this is the case compare the version of the pdh.dll in the Silk Performer root directory with that in the System32 folder. Right-click each dll, choose Properties and then click the Version tab. If the dll in the System32 folder is more recent than that in the Silk Performer directory, then rename the dll in the Silk Performer directory to pdh.dll.old and then copy the dll from the System32 directory into the Silk Performer directory. In a future version of Silk Performer the installation behavior will be changed so that the pdh.dll is only installed into the Silk Performer directory if it is newer than the one that already exists in the system32 folder, and hence this issue will no longer occur. If this is not applicable to your installation of Silk Performer please contact with a crash log. For further information on how to install and use a debugger to collect the crash log, please see the following resolution: How do I correctly generate Dr Watson Log & Crash dump files? Old KB# 17942
