Blog Post: Please help, WebMeter is spamming me with notifications!

WebMeter is a very brave work horse but also a very vigilant watch dog. Every time it observes a site being too slow or even offline, it will bay without hesitation. Although this is what WebMeter is designed for, it can sometimes be annoying. If, for example, response times limits are set too tightly or a site's response times change more frequently due to its content, another email might get sent. But still this is no reason to lock away the work horse into the barn again. Why not just tell it to be a bit more quiet? So if you feel you are receiving too many alerts from WebMeter, don't resign its faithful services and inactivate your sites. Rather increase the response limits a bit or change the email notification settings to your preferences and your inbox will no longer feel flooded. You can find the relevant button right at the bottom of the "My Sites" overview or an entry in the pull-down menu on the upper right which will both take you to the settings page where you can then enable or disable the different types of alerts at your convenience. Just let WebMeter run and do what it was bred to do!
