Wiki Page: Using the “Untitled settings defaults” in Rumba

Problem: Upon re-launch, Rumba is not retaining the user defined TN3270 port number in the Connection Configuration dialog box unless the settings were previously saved in a session profile.   Solution: Rumba can save a set of default settings that are the last set of settings that were NOT saved as a profile. We call this the “Untitled settings defaults” in Rumba. The defaults normally exist in Users\ username \Appdata\Roaming\Micro Focus\Rumba\Defaults folder, and it makes it easier for users to configure multiple profiles by allowing them maintain a default ‘template’ to build their profiles from. One example of this would be if a user has a specific color scheme they like. They could change the colors and then close Rumba without saving a session profile. Then whenever they bring up an untitled session (not a saved session / .rsdm), it would come up with their color settings already configured. The port number is also saved in the default profile. These default settings are the settings you and I are seeing when we bring up a mainframe session even though we have not saved them. While it is recommended that Rumba users create and save session profiles to store their settings, including the user defined port number, using the untitled settings default can be activated by doing the following:   Launch Rumba Select Options Rumba Options. The Rumba Options dialog box appears. Click Session Profile to show the Session Profile page. Check 'Use untitled settings as defaults'. Change the current settings as needed. Exit the untitled window without saving your configuration changes to a profile. If you save the changes to a profile, they are not used as defaults.
