Problem: I have created a couple of Enterprise Servers with Mainframe Support. When these are started, I go into ESMAC. From there it is impossible to get back to the initial page of Enterprise Server Administration by hitting the Home button. After a while I get a time out internal error - server connection terminated and Description: internal error - server connection terminated ------ On a freshly booted PC without any connection to my office network, I have no problem at all navigating in and out of the Esmac. Also, there is no problem navigating within the ESMAC. As soon as I log into our VPN solution from outside the office network, or work within the physical office network, I have the problems described earlier. Also, if I have logged into the VPN solution, then logged off, the problem is still there. Resolution: When you run MFDS on a portable computer, it is most of the time started before a VPN connection is established. It has already determined the IP address from your computer. As long as you keep that address, there is no problem. When you start the VPN, all IP addresses are reconfigured and secured. So when you intend to use a VPN, do not start any regions before you have restarted MFDS: First start the VPN, then restart MFDS Or start the Enterprise Developer command prompt and issue the following commands: net stop mf_CCITCP2 net start mf_CCITCP2
