Summary This article clarifies the possible reasons for receiving the following exception in the Artix or .NET client when invoking a Web Services operation on a CORBA object through an Artix router: Exception 4294967295 : IDL:omg.org/CORBA/TRANSIENT:1.0: minor = 0x495403D8 (IT_ATLI2_IP:CONNECTION_REFUSED), completion status = NO Environment Artix 5.6.2 C++ All Supported Operating Systems Question/Problem Description Receiving "Exception 4294967295 : IDL:omg.org/CORBA/TRANSIENT:1.0: minor = 0x495403D8 (IT_ATLI2_IP:CONNECTION_REFUSED), completion status = NO" when invoking an operation on a CORBA object through an Artix router. Clarifying Information An Artix router is used to expose CORBA back-end objects to Web Services clients (e.g. Artix, .NET clients). Error Message Exception 4294967295 : IDL:omg.org/CORBA/TRANSIENT:1.0: minor = 0x495403D8 (IT_ATLI2_IP:CONNECTION_REFUSED), completion status = NO Defect/Enhancement Number Cause This error is caused by a client not being able to connect to the endpoint exposed by the Artix router. This can be due to the following reasons: the machine where the router runs is not accessible the Artix router is not available the endpoint in the router is not available Resolution Ensure the machine and the router are up and running. If this is already the case ensure the endpoint has not been automatically removed because the setting for the plugins:routing:reference_cache_size is too low. The default value for this setting is 1000, so if the router needs to expose and proxify  more than 1000 CORBA references, ensure this values is increased to an appropriate value.
