Since the introduction of SilkMobile 6.8 you can now import an .ipa file from your hard disk to an IOS device via the “Application Manager” (previously apps had to be pre-installed on an iOS device for testing).  If the .ipa file is already instrumented it will simply be added to the application list allowing you to install and launch the app on the iOS.     If the .ipa file is an un-instrumented Application then you can instrument it automatically by using the “import/sign” button and then completing the “iOS instrumentation” form/dialog (as shown below). However in order to do this you need to provide the application certificate, certificate password and the provisioning profile in order for the application to be instrumented   This new functionality negates the previous requirement of Apple Mac access in order to instrument or install an application on an iOS device.
