This article explains how to overcome issues when executing a field check in a popup or modal window in a JAVA application. During the replay of a field check which verifies text on a popup window on a Java application the field check may fail as a result of the underlying text. This is the result of the repaint function in the java architecture. When Test Partner calls the repaint function, it can not ask for only the text in the popup window and gets all the text in the application view. This causes the field check to fail. Using the text capture option on a Screen Event will enable the user to verify the text in the popup. This functionality does not call the application repaint function, it pulls the text property from the control.
