To update this post, I would like to inform our customers that we are targeting the November 2013 release of 14.0 CPC to provide full support for Windows 8.
The above workaround has been tested by technical support and does work, the only caveat being that the StarTeam ToolBar does not install. However, to get the StarTeam ToolBar to run on Windows 8 you need to install on a supported OS and then copy the full installation folder over onto the Windows 8 machine. After this copy you will need to create two registry keys as detailed below:
32-bit system:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\StarTeam Toolbar]"CurrentVersion"="13.0"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\StarTeam Toolbar\13.0] "Cmd"="C:\\Program Files\\Borland\\StarTeam Toolbar\\SBToolbar.exe"
64-bit system:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Borland\StarTeam Toolbar]"CurrentVersion"="13.0"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Borland\StarTeam Toolbar\13.0]"Cmd"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Borland\\StarTeam Toolbar\\SBToolbar.exe"
Now when you launch the CPC it will automatically start the ToolBar and you can cache your logons
