When a DSN is configured for use by the Silk Test Workbench (STW) the information is stored in a file named DSNConfiguration.ini , this is located in  C:\ProgramData\Silk\SilkTest Workbench (Windows 7). Older versions of the Silk Test installation program created this file encoded using ANSI, this means that it can only contain characters that are in the English and European character sets.  New installations encode the file as Unicode which allows for STW to read and write any character to this file, e.g. Japanese characters. If the file was created using a previous version of STW the easiest way to encode this file as Unicode is to open it using Notepad.exe , use Save As , select Unicode as the encoding and overwrite the file; the existing data in the file will not be affected by this action. Now you can use STW or STWDBConfig.exe to configure DSN's which contain any Unicode character for use with STW.
